The Metropolis shopping centre is a highly successful retail destination in Moscow that welcomes around 25 million visitors every year. StudioFractal collaborated with architects DunnettCraven on the extension of this 80,000m2 GLA centre. The project established new links with existing parking and transport connections creating a new level-4 destination offering spectacular views of Moskow. In addition, a new facade was developed on the approach from the airport to the centre, with integrated lighting to enhance the nighttime presence of this iconic retail destination.

The lighting design was developed to enhance architectural forms and materials, support wayfinding and reduce the operation and maintenance costs of this highly successful retail destination.
